The Wineries involved in this proyect, elaborate their wines with grapes from vineyards that are stablished in an are of about 174.000 hectares, including 20 hectares of towns belonging to the Cuenca province and one town to the Toledo province. Ten viticulture plots have been taken into account belonging to associated Wineries situated in boundaring towns, next to the production area; three plots in Corral de Almaguer and seven in Cabezamesada, Toledo province. In that wide piece of land a detailled viticulture study was done with the collaboration of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, The Upper Technical school of Agricultural Engineering with the purpose of stablishing the edafoclimatic parametres responsible for the special evolution of the vineyards in this area and, therefore, to define the optimum conditions that the land has to offer and the cimatology for its cultivation.The viticultural study made identifies and describes the edafoclimatic picture that grants the vineyards the best qualities for their fermentation.The production area includes the following minicipal towns:El Acebrón, Alcazar del Rey, Almendros, Belinchón, Campos del Paraiso,Fuente de Pedro Naharro, Horcajo de Santiago, Huelves, Huete, Paredes, Rozalén, Saelices, Tarancón, Torrubia del Campo, Tribaldos, Uclés, Vellisca, Villarrubio, Villamayor de Santiago y Zarza de Tajo, belonging to the Cuenca province and Santa Cruz de la Zarza, belonging to the province of Toledo.
On the whole, 21 municipal towns with an extension of 10.600 vineyard hectares.
